Caine Dwyer to be docked 25 points

After failing post-race inspection, Caine Dwyer, driver of the #10 Ally Chevy for Scawles Racing, has been docked 25 points. The points will be deducted from his Philadelphia point total. Dwyer has also been fined $25K, along with his crew chief Dan Sodder.

Dwyer, currently leads the points standings by 13 over Carson Crompton. The rookie started in the rear of the Armor All 200, and finished 12th, leading laps in the race, making it 5 for 5 this year on races he has led a lap in.

Chautier Motorsports Frustrated with 2018 Season

Chautier Motorsports is at an interesting time with their team. All three current drivers have expiring deals and the team could insert new blood starting next season if they so please. Well that’s exactly what they may do considering so far, they haven’t had much success.

With two rookies in the lineup, it may be a little expected, however, the team lives and dies by its former superstar lead driver, Jalen Scransen. He finished 34th. Rookie Beau Phillips finished a disappointing 40th. For a guy with as much hype as he did, this season has been a major letdown. But, still, Jalen Scransen is this team’s lead driver and should be performing. The veteran has shown in the past what he can do, finishing 2nd in 2010 points.

“I don’t think anything’s changed really with the cars we get.” Jalen Scransen said, “It’s been a frustrating 8 years since 2010. We’ve run well, but seems like that’s the anomaly. We’ve been running poorly for a while this year. We’ve got to right this ship because it’s sinking hard right now.”

Jordan Tipsun is in career jeopardy, getting his first AERS deal this year was huge for himself and his family, but he knows in this league you’ve got to be at top performance or you’ll be moved on from. Tipsun DNQ’d at Darlington.

“I’ve got learning to do for sure,” he said, “But at the same time I shouldn’t need to be doing any learning. At my age, it’s perform or get out, and so far I haven’t done that.”

Jordan Tipsun is most likely not returning in 2019, with Phillips being the most likely staying. The team is looking at a quick retool, but it may very well have a couple bleak years in front of it.
