Entry List (WIP):

Aaron Zimmer was originally entered in the 25, but Candlestick decided to move him to the part-time 83 car to give Herdson some more seat time. Tatianna Robbins returns in the 69 for Albie Gregory this week. Thomas Lewis makes his first attempt of the season in the second Plymouth Racing car, Damon Miller has Seever Towing onboard his #15 car this week and Caleb Kovic returns in the #7 Ford owned by his father, a 1998 Ford Taurus. Oh, boy... At least he's making an effort and has turned a few heads regionally. Nikolas Marchankov and Eun Yong Kim, informally tabbed the "Tag Team of Death", are both here for Bolghomme this week to add to the fun.

Heading on a slight road trip, the boys and girls of PTRL head to Richmond for some short track action. Nothing beats some old school beating and banging, does it? Tim Hutchinson Jr. holds the points lead coming in; 5 and 15 points ahead of Reed Church and Ty Sheets, respectively. Can he hold on after this weekend?

Pericles:" Hopefully I don't end up in the wall, 18th in points, gotta make some progress!"

K.Pericles:"Meh."

Where to start with this Q-Race... Wow...

Q-Race:

Eun Yong Kim was LETHALLY slow. Caused about five wrecks in total and retired 28 laps down. On the topic of him, let's review what happened in chronological order and there's a LOT to talk about.

Kim holds up a majority of the field, bunches them all up in 3 and 4 and that leads to Olive Blue turning her husband sideways to bring out the first yellow. Dave Endicott proceeds to dump the 52 coming onto the frontstretch, having been held up by him since Turn 2. Cooper Brand, Olive Blue and Jonathan DiVierdi get into an incident in response.

Just before the field takes the green flag, Kim plows into the back of Olive Blue in Turn 3 and spins himself out. No yellow for that, but Tobias Newbridge self-spins in Turn 4 and Jonathan DiVierdi plows into the 52, who had not gotten above 70 mph yet, and DiVierdi is 2 for 2. Yellow is out for that.

After Grant Carsons led the field to the start, Brooks Harford led the field to the restart on Lap 17. Two and a half laps later, Newbridge wants to bring out a caution by dumping DiVierdi, who is 3 for 3 now.

Restart on Lap 25. Nikolas Marchankov was actually impressing on the practice charts and running 5th at this point. He did bring a nice-looking car, reportedly one he purchased himself, and he's doing wonders with it. However, the next caution saw him and Wyatt Herdson get together on Lap 33. Herdson spins into the wall, back down in front of Leon Gapreon who had nowhere to go and Olive Blue and Damon Miller get pieces of it, too. Brooks Harford ended up knocking himself down a peg by pounding the back of Quincy Davis' machine and putting himself back in 18th, first car out, because of it. Gapreon, Herdson, Dave Endicott because of pitwalling, Kyle Callahan and Damon Miller all retired as a result.

Thomas Lewis was turning some heads as he led on the restart, but Carsons passes him a lap later. Harford quickly blew by some backmarkers and put himself tentatively back in the race. As the field takes Lap 40/94, Nolan Venables hooks the 77 of Fotios Papadopoulos down into Cooper Brand (who had his decent run ruined and is off the pace at this point), sending the 26 and 77 sideways and there's the 5th caution of the race. Feels like we've had more pacing laps than green laps so far...

Next restart sees Carsons continuing to lead as Eun Yong Kim gets stuffed into the Turn 2 wall by Gavin Warwick, prompting the 52 to pit for what is the third time. On Lap 58, once Kim was back out, he ended up holding his teammate Marchankov up for a full lap and the 9 car fell back to 19th. Kim's been known for not using teamwork properly (see Q-Race 5) before, so I guess it's not surprising. Marchankov is then further held up by Caleb Kovic and is part of a 6-car train or so that's all being jammed by the 7. Alli Kittleson was one of them and she fell through the standings down to 10th by Lap 68. Daniel Voyles battled with her and Brooks Harford for a fair amount of laps. Carsons decides on Lap 70 to truck over Michael Blue in Turn 3 and draw a yellow flag.

A lap and a half after the restart (Lap 78), Andrew Darby gets dumped from 4th place by Alli Kittleson in Turn 4, right in front of Cliff Jensen and Ryan Napolitano with Jensen also spinning around. Behind that, Cooper Brand and Drew Driver make contact and the 26 is sent around. Robert Pollard would have missed it had the 48, 02 and 77 not run into it at a faster speed and shoved him in. Davis, O. Blue and Pollard would all retire because of this. GG.

(Things get really weird here. 9th place Tobias Newbridge hovered around the track at 28 mph and the rest of the field behind him did as well. The top 8 (including Gavin Warwick who took 9th from Newbridge) ended up lappin the held-up cars. I had to start my car, come out of the pits, hit Newbridge to spin him out and hope it snapped the AI out of it, which it did. Eun Yong Kim ended up 3-wide with Thomas Lewis and Cliff Jensen coming to the green)

Kim causes a slight jam-up resulting in Caleb Kovic and Jonathan DiVierdi making contact and the 23 sliding for a split-second; no caution. Carsons seems to be in cruise control, but Kovic ended up holding the 22 and allowing Thomas Lewis to blow by to the lead. Kittleson was about to pass him, but Carsons nabbed 2nd at the start/finish line where the yellow flag was out. Nolan Venables dumps Michael Blue into the inside wall and wrecks his engine. Blue drives it back around to the pits where he plows into the end of the pit wall and comes back out in front of traffic. Ryan Napolitano had nowhere to go with Kassandra Pericles and Daniel Voyles piling in, Brooks Harford, Daniel Voyles, Tobias Newbridge, Andrew Darby and Ravi Minhas all sliding sideways in response. To top it all off, Eun Yong Kim piles into the stationary Napolitano at 40-something mph, which was somehow enough to make him retire. He couldn't have just paced around and shamefully completed the race?

Anyhow, because of that and an earlier incident, Nolan Venables was disqualified from the results by PTRL officials because of that move, which ultimately put him in the race. Thomas Lewis paced around behind the pace car to take the victory in one of the most chaotic qualifying races in quite a while. Dang, I missed this...

After not being able to start the qualifier at his home track in Pocono due to an engine failure in practice, Drew Driver makes it through, as does Gavin Warwick who missed last race. Brenda Barns is in the same spot as Warwick. Cooper Brand narrowly makes it in and the Venables DQ  didn't really affect him as Kassandra Pericles will be in despite the fact that she retired as a result of that accident. Had she not taken an extra lap around the track, she might be heading home. Aaron Zimmer had high hopes with Candlestick this week and fell just short of making it in. I guarantee nobody's willing to be bought out, especially not if Zimmer will run 42nd all race because, frankly, his car was not quick enough to be in. Cliff Jensen seemed to be looking better this race and Nikolas Marchankov is in for Bolghomme Racing Team, but you might as well say he's running for his own team. P13 is great to hear for that team regardless. Napolitano did not need this and may be trying to buy somebody out... we'll see, though.

Looks like Newbridge is carrying GasTech's weight after Gapreon's pitwall incident.
