Entry List:

The Tricky Triangle is home to the fourth event of the season as the engines fire up in the Quaker State. Ty Sheets comes in as the points leader, but he's never won on this track before. Ben Ross and Chase Donovan both feel incredibly confident about their chances coming in with Donovan being a native of Pennsylvania to add to his motivation. It seems like a hard fought battle all the way to Turn 4... wait, what Turn 4?

PRE-RACE: Newbridge and Aleksandr Mouta had a run-in in practice, handing the 9 some hefty damage to the rear end of that car. Also, with a minute left to go, his teammate Cole Romine is turned into the Turn 2 wall by Quincy Davis, causing both cars some significant damage and for both to withdraw due to having no backup car to run. Mouta would not start the qualifying race either, knocking out the two slowest cars on the charts topped by Chase Donovan.

Q-Race:

Everything was clean on the start and the first caution were the 25th and 26th (dead-end of the field)-place cars of Wyatt Herdson and Fotios Papadopoulos taking each other into the wall on Lap 8 as Donovan had opened up a sizeable lead on Joaquin Ortega and a charging Brooks Harford. After the restart, Harford kept right at the 18's rear bumper, but was held up by the two damaged cars of Herdson and Papadopoulos and Donovan cruised onto victory. Minhas makes the show over his teammate yet again, but Michael Blue was over 10 seconds behind the 27 anyway. The aforementioned Brooks Harford and Nolan Venables, both making their first attempts for new teams, will both make their debuts as well as Andrew Darby in his second attempt. No real surprises other than those.

If you had college, anxiety, depression and a girlfriend to deal with all at once, you'd know how hard it would be to fit this in. Razz

Voyles struggle at Pocono ended up 36th

After having 2 DNFs and making the checkered flag only 1 time USA Racing Driver Daniel Voyles didn't improve from his starting spot and ended up where he started 36th place. "I'm not disappoint that we got the car home in 1 piece I'm just disappointed that we didn't get the result that we wanted it but I know the team is doing everything they can trying to improve on and we will get better eventually" he said, after coming out of his hauler." "The team has been a hard working team and the more we get better the more the car will get faster."

Bell takes victory in Pocono, feels "better about this season"

It's been a long while since Preston Bell has had the bright smile upon his face that's become his trademark in the garage area and really anywhere he goes. It's somewhat been a rarity to see him quite as enthusiastic about his profession as he's been, especially this season. With his departure from Donovan, it seemed that he would be able to get back to having fun with his career in his own hands, but it's appeared to be anything but.

Finishing 9th at Thunder Bay and a 2nd place at Boston, there still appeared to be something amiss. He had results to show starting off, but there was a hint of discontent to him in the garage. Practice tended to show him running in the Top 15 compared to the frontrunning teams like Donovan and Team 4. Perhaps he knew that even with the results, the performance was truly not there. He ended up crashing out at Watkins Glen and that did not help matters. But a good run at Pocono was something he needed.

"Honestly, ah haven't felt quite great about racing." Bell told the media entering the weekend. "Ah've never felt so unsettled before. Ah always loved doin' this, but it's dragged and dragged lately and ah dunno why. Ah feel like maybe that's what's had me fallin' off this year. Ah feel like we're just not pushing 100% right now, but it's early in the season and we can bounce back. We've got good finishes, but ah still feel like we're falling behind. This week, we're doin' all we can at the shop to tune everythin' right and show what we got. Ah'm fightin' for my spot in this field. Ah wanna get back up there and win races again."

Bell's realization that he's fallen off has led to a change in the #3 crew's operation. While Bell qualified back in 20th, they were more concerned about their race setup. They climbed forward steadily to start the race and found themselves in the Top 5 by the first round of pitstops. Bell radioed in for a few adjustments to be made, likely wedge and track bar, and those were completed under that stop. After that, Bell absolutely surged forward and contended with the leaders, taking the top spot on Lap 52 in Turn 2, passing the 39 of Tim Hutchinson Jr. Nobody could remotely touch the 3 car from that point on. No cautions came out and Preston returns to the winner's circle for the first time since Mankato in 2013.

"Man, ah dunno where to start..." Bell trailed off happily. "The guys behind me are the reason ah'm in here. They gave me everythin' they had today. We got everything runnin' perfectly. These guys knew what to do an' once they did, this Outback Chevrolet was on rails. Gotta thank Food For the Poor, Pennzoil, Mr. Goodcents, Zatarain's, all of my sponsors, everyone who got me to where ah'm. This goes out to them for believin' in me 'cause am still believe in all of you guys, too."

Bell now sits 4th in points, 38 behind leader Tim Hutchinson Jr. With the spark seemingly back in his eye, Bell looks onward to Richmond to carry this momentum into another good finish.
