PostSubject: Scraps Deal With #42, Reportedly Out of AARO in '15   Mon Jun 23, 2014 3:41 pm

It was revealed today that, effective immediately, has ceased sponsorship of the #42 Chevrolet driven by Herb Cilantro in the AARO Amp Energy Racing Series. The company had one year remaining on its contract and, according to several sources, was in the midst of negotiating for renewal when the sudden change of plan was apparently made.

"I mean, I wouldn't say the reports are entirely right...", said Vincent Giacalone, the car's owner, "because we hadn't really gotten that far at all in discussing renewal. What happened was they wanted to pay a little less, which we said we could live with, but then I think, long story short, they were trying to see what they could get away with, and it got to the point where it wasn't fair to us and our ability to effectively run the team. We'll move on and look for a new partner...hopefully we find it before Winnipeg."

The company is expected to leave the sport completely next season. It had slowly been winding down its AARO involvement in the past year, having dropped its sponsorship of the in-flux AARO Truck Series in mid-2012 and severed its partnership with Livonia Raceway but a few days after this year's 250.
