Yesterday, I turned on my external hard drive (where all my painting stuff is stored) so I could fix the errors on the #48 car I painted for Packer on EFR. To my surprise, however, I heard a clicking sound coming from the drive, and it failed to come up in the My Computer folder.

I'm sending it back to the company, and they'll probably be able to restore the data, but I won't be able to paint for at least a week.

Update: My dad called the company (hey, he uses it for his business stuff too) and they said they'd be able to restore around 80% of the data, but it's going to cost around $2400. He and I talked, and he basically said it wasn't worth it paying that much. We might try and find a privateer who's willing to restore it for a few hundred bucks, but it seems unlikely.

If worse comes to worse (which it looks like it will), I might just re-download all the templates/bases/etc. I found on various sites. As for the templates I myself made, I'll remake the Meridian Bolt (I really don't want to let Leon down) and maybe the Optic and Axello. The Cavallo and Echo are saved on Sendspace (and Crosby and Landon have them), so they aren't lost.
