Renesse Racing Officially in Casey Lester Sweepstakes

Roger Renesse told media today at Calgary Speedpark that the team was in discussions with Casey Lester for the 2012 AARO Season. Currently, Lester does not have an AERS license, but with a top 5 one-off finish at McKinley and two AYG starts, he would only need 4 NCSTT or AYG starts to earn it.

Lester has many options, and a contract at Renesse Racing could be the start to a successful career.

I know. He'd have to complete 4 AYG or NCSTT starts no matter where he signs to start a race.

@Will, Ritcher Racing.

No, it would be the AERS ride. He'd have to find the AYG ride elsewhere.

Casey Lester: I'm going to race again this season. They can't shut me down like this. I am going to run 4 races somewhere. I don't care what anybody tells me. I'm racing this season.

(OOC: It feels great, Will. Razz)

Anderson Racing's plan to save money?

Riley Anderson, though confident with his team's chances in 2012, realizes he does not of the funding, or interest for that matter, to manage four cars on his own. With two very promising drivers [Tim Averell and Nick Dawson] coming in, Anderson has decided to split the four car operation in half.

Though the exact details are not cleared, part-time team Riley Racing may become a team with a tight technical alliance with Anderson Racing (think Hendrick and Stewart-Haas). Anderson will most likely be the 50% owner. This means that regardless of what happens, all sponsors (and the close relations with dodge) will continue on through both teams. The terms of the alliance are not yet clear.

Dangerous Dog Racing -- Ford Fusion
00 - Tyson Lautenschlager/2009-2020, 10 yrs. -- OUT! Pet Care/2011-2013, 2 yrs.
49 - Grace Garcia/2011-2012, 1 yrs. -- Breast Cancer Foundation/2011-2013, 2 yrs.
65 - Donnie Edwards, Jr./2011-2011, 0 yrs. -- Elmira Gift Outlet/2011-2015, 4 yrs.

DDR will obviously stick with Lautenschlager and Garcia is expected to remain with the team as well. DDR would like to keep the 65 full-time in 2012. They are not going to resign with Edwards due to lack of performance but he is expected to remain with the team for the remainder of the year.

Upcoming prospects: Maddox Shaw, Casey Lester. Interested in: Tim Averall

Casey Lester has shown quite an interest in driving for Eric Webler's 2nd AERS seat in 2012. He has also contacted Webler to potentially race injured and drive the #15 truck for the final 4 races of this season in order to be eligible to run AERS next season.

Webler Motorsports was hoping to have an announcement but now for who will be driving the 04 but Nate Pieper backed out from the offer to drive it to gain more experience in AYG. Eric Webler has said that he is interested in Team JROD driver Tito Mass and would like to hire him.

68 to be sold

Rumors are abounding that the #68 team that Daniel Micks drives for will be sold. Micks has missed over half the races this season and the team has been financially struggling to. Reports have the team being sold as early as middle of this season. Likely buyers include, Italian Businessman Romero Tassinni, German Touring Car Legend Uwe Scholz or Swedish car dealer Bjorn Jonnasson. Rumor has that if Tassinni buys the team he may partition AARO to allow the Alfa Romeo 8C as his car.*

Contey Motorsports:

#32 - Bruce Wilkinson (USA) -- Clevite / Lifetime
#85 - Matthew Contey (USA) -- Sprite / Lifetime

The Contey Motorsports stable isn't going anywhere. We're happy right where we were at the beginning of '11.

Since nothing much has changed, no new schemes, please use cars from '11.

Since Eric Webler has signed Logan Alvarez to the #63 Chevrolet for AYG in 2012, the likelihood of either Renesee or Webler for Casey Lester's AERS debut has come to an 80/20% chance. Lester has shown great interest in Renesee for next year, but the only drawback will be that if he doesn't race in 3 AYG or NCSTT events this season and/or does not heal quick enough to do so, he will not be eligible to race in AARO's top division.

"This is a pretty big crapshoot. I'd like to thank Allie Knight for ruining my season with an over-aggressive move. I'd also like to thank Nate Knowitall, for having his developmental driver race like f**king idiots. Anyway, I just hope I can get back behind the wheel of a truck, or car, before the year's through. I hope to work out a deal with Webler abbout the Trucks, but I'm not 100% positive. I'll try my damndest, though." - Casey Lester

Aw, that sucks. 13's my personal number, ironically. Razz I would personally sign with Renesee if I was valid, but I don't think I can make it official until I get three more starts. I started 2 AYG events, so I got 3 to run. Luckily for me, I'm scheduled to return before the season's end. I could run one AYG event and 2 Truck events and be valid, correct? Or the other way around... Doesn't matter.

Yep. Just need 3 (I thought it was 4...?) starts in Trucks or AYG OR a few one off starts/wins?

My character will be healed by about November or December, but I don't know if the Olympia race will be run by then. Most likely, I'll have fully recovered in time to possibly run a one-off for the finale with the same deal that I had at McKinley. I'll ask Eric and see if I can run his #15 Truck for the final 3 races regardless of how injured I may be.

Shell Motorsports may purchase the assets that used to be #68 team, even though the chances of it happening are very slim.
