PostSubject: Americas Racing Team, Allready failed?   Sun Jan 16, 2011 12:02 pm

Im sure we all know here about the new team that was suppost to open up this year, Americas Racing Team #76. You could buy shares in the team and it was suppost to be the "fans" team. Well, before even making it to the track it seems that this team has failed.

Jayski.com Reporting:
Quote :
No word on this team since the announcement in July 2010, emails to the team via their webiste go unanswered, the PR firm they dealt with doesn't any longer (1-12-2011). America's Racing Team launched July 2, 2010 after an announcement at Daytona International Speedway with more questions than answers about its future. Primary partners hope that fans will support the concept, through which they hope to enter a #76 car in the 2011 Daytona 500 [shown as a Chevy at the announcement]. Former Red Bull Racing competition director Elton Sawyer was named the competition advisor for the team. The fan owned / sponsored team is not a new concept and one that has never been successful in the long term.

Your thoughts?

I think that it isnt a great idea to begin with, but i saw a picture of the car they were running on the teams site. I think they should atleast try to attempt a few races before shutting down

I knew it was going to fail months before the start of the season tbh.

Saw this coming a mile away. Good riddance IMO, we didn't need a team proclaiming it was "AMERICA'S TEAM!11" in an already all-American series.
