PostSubject: 2010 AARO AMP Energy Racing Series Awards Ceremony   Sun Nov 21, 2010 5:51 pm

Didn't get many votes for this last year. Hopefully this year is better.

Top of the year: 42 - Herb Cilantro. He proved that consistency wins titles, and he showed it all year long with a worst finish of 20th while running, to add up to an Average Finish of 13.40, the best by any driver in history who completed over 85% of the races. Fred Ritcher gets an honorable mention for winning 3 in a row for the first time in History.

Flop of the year: 87 - Mikael Carter. His worst season by far. With only 1 top 5 and 2 top 10s, he was back in 45th+ for most of the year, charged his way to 32nd for the finish.

AAA Pole of the Year Winner: 5-way tie. Jalen Scransen, Fred Ritcher, Jerry Richson, Kody Lachner, and Brad Simmons share the award all with 2 poles on the season.

aaroracing.com Lap Leader Award Winner: Jalen Scransen had the edge over everyone with 3 to go. However, Cilantro led 50 laps in 2 of the last 3 races to lead 140 laps, one ahead of Scransen's 139.

Lap Completion Award: The top 3 in the standings all completed over 90% of the laps led on the year, the only 3 to do so. However Herb Cilantro takes this award as well with a stellar 93% laps completed.

Top 10 Award: Aaron Fisher in the 90 recorded 8 top 10's ont he season, one more ahead of the 26 and 42 for this award.

Manufacterer Champion: Chevy, with 20 drivers, one more than Ford, and two more than Dodge, takes this title by over 6000 points over Ford.

Team Champion: Renesse wins its 5th consecutive Team Title by over 16000 points over Aaron Fisher Racing, who only had 3 drivers to Renesse's 4.

Rookie of the Year: Grant Jacobs, who ran one less race than everyone in the top 9 in points, secures the ROTY. He recorded a win at McKinley. The 11 of Wendy Fisher was a close second.

Comback Driver of the Year: Shawn Glossum in the 09 fell all the way back to 45th in the standings at one point, he finished 19th in the standings. Glossum made a very hard charge to get his team locked into the field, as his owner's team was not. KGI had one good car this year, and it was the 09 after a bit of tough luck early on.

Some commentary added, if you don't mind.

Best Race of 2010: Saskatchewan - You don't know how much of a pain it is for me to spell that.

Worst Race of 2010: Sarnia - The failure twins, and I assume you know who I'm talking about, wrecked me. I don't care if that was pure AI, I don't mind it I hit the 79 under caution. Plus, that race was a wreckfest. OH, and if McKinley were an option, I would've went with that.

Dissapointment of the Year: Mikael Carter - Honestly, I'm just going with everybody else, I wasn't really paying attention to those guys.

Worst Luck: Nick Kozoro - Having been taken out of the finale by Josh Mertz. That must be a real heartache.

Most Embarrassing Driver Error: RJ Bandsma - Need I say why? "F*** off n*****s."

Worst Wreck: Jorge Hernandez - In real life, he wouldn't have survived that wreck, and neither the fans.

Most Exciting Finish: McKinley - Despite the horrible excuse for a race it was, my driver finished in the top 10, followed by a whole lot of post-race fighting.

Most Popular Driver: Herb Cilantro - The Jeff Gordon of AARO, in my opinion.

Best Race of 2010: Boston - And i'm not picking this cause i'm biased

Worst Race of 2010: Livonia - That was a true borefest

Dissapointment of the Year: Josh Mertz - I was expecting a lot out of him, sadly I didn't see it this year.

Worst Luck: Mikael Carter - He really had some bad luck this year

Most Embarrasing Driver Error: RJ Bandsma... you all know why.

Worst Wreck: Jorge Hernandez @ Boston

Most Exciting Finish: Talladega - Glossom over Rody by 37 thousands of a second. Dont get better than that.

Most Popular Driver (Cannot pick your driver): Herb Cilantro. He definitely earned it.
